Claim Deadlines, Sikkim State Lottery
Everything on claim deadlines for sikkim state lottery in one place, timings, requirements and what to check first.
What is Claim Deadlines?
A claim deadline is the legally binding cut-off date by which a Sikkim State Lottery prize winner must submit a valid claim to receive their winnings. Under the Sikkim State Lotteries Rules, all prize claims must be lodged within 30 days from the official draw date printed on your ticket and published in the Sikkim Government Gazette. Once this window closes, the unclaimed prize is forfeited to the State Government's Consolidated Fund, no extension is available under any circumstance.
This 30-day rule applies uniformly to every prize tier, from a ₹100 consolation amount to a multi-crore first prize. The countdown begins on the draw date itself, not the date you discover your win. Because the Directorate of Sikkim State Lotteries does not notify winners individually, checking results promptly after each draw is entirely your responsibility as the ticket holder.

Claim Deadlines Step by Step
Move through these steps immediately after confirming a winning Sikkim State Lottery ticket, early action is the only way to stay inside the 30-day window without pressure.
- Day 1 to 2, Verify the result. Cross-check your ticket number against results at sikkimstatelottery.org or the official Gazette. Screenshot the draw date alongside your matching number as your first evidence record.
- Day 1 to 3, Secure the original ticket. Sign the reverse of the physical ticket and store it flat and dry. Do not fold, laminate, or expose it to moisture, barcode damage delays or voids validation.
- Day 3 to 7, Gather documents. You need: original winning ticket, two passport-size photos, self-attested government photo ID (Aadhaar, Voter ID, or Passport), PAN card copy (mandatory for prizes above ₹10,000), and a cancelled cheque or passbook copy for NEFT payment.
- Day 7 to 15, Submit the claim form. Download the Prize Claim Form from sikkimstatelottery.org or collect it at the Directorate office in Gangtok. Submit in person at the Directorate of Sikkim State Lotteries, New Secretariat, Tashiling, Gangtok, 737101 (Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM). Collect a stamped acknowledgement receipt noting your submission date.
- Day 15 to 30, Track payment. Processing takes 7 to 15 working days after acceptance. Prize money is credited via NEFT. Follow up using your acknowledgement number if payment has not arrived before Day 30.

Claim Deadlines Safety and Timing
Submitting close to Day 30 is the single biggest risk a Sikkim State Lottery winner can take. Office closures on public holidays, document correction requests, or banking delays can push a late submission past the deadline. Aim to submit your completed claim by Day 20 at the latest: this buffer absorbs almost any procedural setback without jeopardising your prize.
Keep physical copies of every document you submit, including a photograph of the original ticket before handing it over. If the Directorate requests additional verification, such as an affidavit for a large prize, you must respond within the same 30-day window. Pre-organised paperwork means you can turn around a correction request in 24 to 48 hours rather than several days.
